Sasanquas, sometimes referred to as "Sun Camellias" because of their tolerance to direct sunlight, are the first Camellias to come into bloom, generally reaching peak bloom in November in Southern California. Varieties tending to peak later are designated by “L”; varieties showing earlier color are indicated by “E."

A note about misnomers —Through the years Camellias and Azaleas have come to us that were either unnamed or incorrectly named but are deserving of being grown. On these we have put our own names until such a time that their correct names might be given to them. In this catalog we have indicated these misnomers by placing them in quotation marks, such as
“Frosted Star” and "Pink Apple Blossom" below.
